Our Story

The story of Stellar Patterns Consulting Inc. began in Edmonton, Alberta, emerging from a profound observation in the evolving nonprofit sector.

A team of experienced community leaders with backgrounds spanning research, project management, healthcare innovation, and community development, witnessed a pattern: despite dedicated effort and resources, a large chunk of community initiatives were struggling to demonstrate meaningful impact and retain commitment to their cause.

This realization came from years of collective experience working with nonprofits, government agencies, and community organizations. We saw organizations repeatedly face similar challenges: struggling to secure sustainable funding, lacking robust evaluation frameworks, and missing opportunities to create lasting change in their communities.

What truly catalyzed the founding of Stellar Patterns Consulting was a shared vision that emerged from our collaborative work on various community projects. We recognized that the gap between government or corporate investments and community impact wasn't about the "what" - it was about the "how." Organizations needed more than just funding; they needed a holistic approach that combined rigorous research, innovative thinking, and comprehensive evaluation. This insight led to the development of our proprietary approach, which transforms how organizations approach evaluation and community engagement. Therefore, bridging the gap between theory and practice.

Dr. Oluwadamilare Akingbade

Our Profile

Shola is a Business Process Management Professional (University of Toronto) and a certified Project Management Professional who works at the intersection of project design/implementation and community engagement.
With a first degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Nottingham and a master's degree in Community Engagement from The University of Alberta, Shola has a unique blend of technical skills and community agency insights that makes the difference when he engages with multi-level stakeholders and cross functional teams. 

He has a passion for Community Development and has provided technical assistance/consultancy services for different organizations like Alberta Health Services, The University of Alberta, End Poverty Edmonton, City of Edmonton, and The Federal Government of Nigeria. His portfolio includes the World Bank assisted States Fiscal Transparency Accountability and Sustainability Programme for Results (PforR) which was aimed at strengthening fiscal transparency of government institutions in key result areas like public finance management and open government practices. 
Furthermore, he is a member of the Project Management Institute, USA and the Canadian Association of Management Consultants, Canada.

Destiny is a research scholar and community engagement expert with experience in diverse sectors spanning the technology industry, government, and nonprofit sectors. Destiny has spent the last 5 years collaborating and leading several community-based research and intervention projects locally and internationally. He leverages his experience and extensive community relationships to translate knowledge into action.

A member of the Society for applied anthropology, his passion has led him to engage with diverse communities in Canada and secure support for his work from partners including the Maple leaf center for food security, the City of Edmonton, Action for Healthy Communities and the Africa Centre. Destiny is a mitacs scholar in community engagement and an alumnus of the Canada service corps, the University of Alberta and Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, NAIT. 

Dr. Oluwadamilare Akingbade is a dynamic community health nursing specialist, certified global nurse consultant and distinguished scholar passionate about impacting families and communities through research. He bagged a PhD in nursing at the Nethersole School of Nursing University, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. His groundbreaking PhD research, which focused on developing a mobile app designed to support Nigerian women undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer, received numerous awards and recognition for its potential to revolutionize cancer care in Nigeria.

He is currently a postdoctoral researcher funded by Alberta Innovates and a lecturer at the Faculty of Nursing, University of Alberta. Based in Edmonton, Canada, his work spans areas such as public health, women’s health, and digital health. Dr. Akingbade is known for his innovative teaching methodologies and impactful research, which have been instrumental in shaping evidence-based practices and advancing healthcare outcomes. His dedication to mentorship and collaboration continues to inspire the next generation of health professionals worldwide.
